This class explores the inter-relation between technological developments, science fiction literature, and the philosophy of technology, mind, and metaphysics. Participants will explore foundational concepts in Artificial Intelligence, and learn the philosophical origins of common Sci-Fi tropes like body-swaps and time loops. Readings include Alan Turing, Nick Bostrom, John Searle, David Chalmers, and others.
